12.04.2006

Technical supplements to the railway agreement between Bulgaria and Turkey for common boundary railway station “Kapakule” signed the director executive of “BDZ” LTD Oleg Petkov, the director executive of NC “Railway Infrastructure” Dimiter Gaidarov and the director executive of the Turkish State Railways Erol Inan. The signature attended the Transport Ministers of Republic of Bulgaria and Republic of Turkey Peter Mutafchiev and Binali Yildirim.

The agreement has been signed on January 17, 2006 between the premier ministers of Bulgaria and Turkey during the official visit of the prime-minister Sergei Stanishev in Ankara. The supplements concern the ease of the railway boundary passage between Bulgaria and Turkey. The goal is to relieve boundary transition in the railway transport, by accomplishing the checks on one place, said Minister Mutafchiev after the annexes signature.

During the conversation with his Turkish colleague Minister Mutafchiev asked for assistance from the side of the Turkish authorities regarding the investigation of the tragic accident with the sheep “Hera”. Minister Yildirim promised undivided support to organize a work-meeting on expert level during the next month between the maritime administrations of the both countries and the investigating authorities.

The both ministers discussed also the measures to decrease the demurrages on the boundaries between Bulgaria and Turkey.
