The Greek Minister of Transport Will Visit Bulgaria

The Minister of Transport and Communications of The Republic of Greece Michalis Ljapis will visit Bulgaria on May 11, 2006 by invitation of the Minister of Transport Peter Mutafchiev. He arrives in our country with the direct-train Sofia – Thessaloniki at 12.20 pm, on the Central Railway Station Sofia, where the two ministers will make short statements.

The Bulgarian and the Greek Delegations will carry out a plenary meeting at 15.40 in the Sitting room of the Ministry of transport. At 16.20 Minister Mutafchiev and his Greek Colleague will give together a press conference.

The visit of the Greek transport minister will give another opportunity to extend the traditionally good relations between the two countries and will hold out bright prospects to the acceleration of the regional cooperation in the field of transport; it will also speed up the realization of the infrastructure projects along the Pan-European corridors X and IV – “Reconstruction and electrification of railway line Plovdiv – Dimitrovgrad – Svilengrad – Turkish/Greek boundary”, modernization of the security and telecommunication technics, as well introducing of modern technologies along the railway line Sofia – Dupnitsa – Kulata.
