Progress in the Field of the Automobile Transport between Bulgaria and Turkey

Bulgaria and Turkey came to consent in the project for the new Agreement – the bilateral, transit transportations of freights to be accomplished without licenses. This happened during a session of the mixed Bulgarian-Turkish commission on International automobile transportations. It took place on May 10th and 11th, 2007 in Sofia.

According to this project, in case of necessity, a mixed commission will have the right to define the number of the Transportations from the mode empty – full.

Until the moment of the putting into operation of the new agreemen, a licensing regime was leaded in, for all kinds of transportations, according to the agreement which is now operating. The regime will be applied from July 2007. The licenses, which have been contracted this year for all kind of transportations, will satisfy the needs of the Bulgarian carriers.

During the talks the Bulgarian side expressed its position to apply immediately the reciprocal principle, after the unilateral measures of the Turkish side and in case that the Turkish side does not agree to abolish these measures.

Representatives of the Bulgarian Branch organizations attended the meeting.
