Five Companies Submitted Offers for the Building of the Signalization Systems, Telecommunications, and Distant Control of the Energy System of the Railway Line Plovdiv – Svilengrad

Five international companies/consortiums submitted offers for executor of the projecting and building of the signalization systems, telecommunication and distant control of the railway line Plovdiv – Svilengrad energy system. The public opening of the submitted tenders took place today at 15 o’clock in the Ministry of Transport, in the presence of the candidate’s representatives.

The tender procedure was announced on December 20, 2007. The time for the submission of the offers expired today, at 12 o’clock, Bulgarian time. The procedure is being carried out according to the rules of the European commission.

Offers submitted:
• International Consortium „ANSER" of the Italian „ANSALDO Segnalamento Ferroviario S.p.A." (Leading partner) with „ERICSSON Telecomunicazioni S.p.A.";
• International consortium „THALES - ALCATEL - LUCENT";
• International Consortium between the Czech „AŽD" (leading partner) and „BOMBARDIER";
• Alstom Ferroviaria S.p.A.;
• International Consortium „Trakia SIENO" of „Siemens EOOD" Bulgaria (Leading partner) with „Nokia Siemens Networks".


The Expectations are that the contract for the systems will be signed till September 2007. It will include the accomplishment of the systems for central management of the trains, automatic locomotive signalisation and distant control of the energy systems. With their construction the project for reconstruction and electrification of the railway line Plovdiv – Svilengrad – Turkish/Greek boundary will be fully completed.

This is one of the main infrastructure projects of the Bulgarian Government, declared as object with national importance.
