Minister Mutafchiev Met the EU Coordinator on the Program

The Minister of Transport Peter Mutafchiev met the European Coordinator on the Program "Trans-European Networks (TEN-T) for the domestic waterways. Both discussed the policy of the ministry in regard of the development of the transport along the domestic waterways and the role of the European Commission for the popularization of the financial instruments on an European level for the achievement of the goals of the program NAIADES. Earlier today Karla Peijs met also the Deputy Minister Krasimira Martinova, Deputy Minister Daniela Nikiforova and the Director-Executive of EA "Maritime Administration" Nikolai Apostolov, as well as the Director-Executive of EA "Maintenance and Study of the River Danube" - Ruse, Georgi Georgiev, MT experts from EA "Maritime Administration" and EA "Port Authorities". During the talks Deputy Minister Martinova presented the policy of the Ministry of Transport regarding the creation of favorable conditions for the implementation of the NAIADES Program - concerning the development and the stimulation of the domestic waterways transport. Captain Nikolai Apostolov presented the development of the project for the creation of the River Information System BuLRIS, in connection with the Directive 2005/44/EO on the harmonized river information services in the inland waterways of the Community.
