Minister Mutafchiev Met the Premier–Minister of Georgia

Within the mainframe of the third session of the Bulgarian-Georgian Intergovernmental Commission on Commercial-Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation a meeting took place in Tbilisi, between the Premier-Minister of Georgia Nika Gilaury and the Co-chairman from Bulgarian side Peter Mutafchiev, Minister of Transport of the Republic of Bulgaria. The start of a direct ferryboat line between the Black Sea ports of the two countries was considered during the conversations. Special attention was given to the bilateral cooperation in the field of Energy, including the project NABUKO in the context of the diversification of the gas supply for the countries of the European Union in Eastern and Central Europe.  

During the session a work meeting between the both co-chairmen of the Commission - Minister Mutafchiev and the Minister of the Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Davit Tkeshelashilly took place. The two ministers discussed the ideas for the development of the cooperation in the field of transport, energy, agriculture and especially the Bulgarian expert help for the development of the oil-bearing rose-production. The Georgian side expressed willingness to apply the Bulgarian experience in the realization of the railway project Ahalkalaki - Kars.

The experts of the both countries will prepare, within the mainframe of separate workgroups, the text for a Cooperation Protocol in the field of Tourism, Transport, Agriculture, IT and Telecommunications, as well as in the sphere of the Environment protection, health-care and culture.
