Minister Tsvetkov Participated in an International Specialized Congress Fair on Rail Transport

The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Aleksandar Tsvetkov participated in the "#rail2009" Congress Fair on 10 November 2009 in Dortmund, Germany.
The Trade Fair "#rail2009" is a leading transport-political event. It is organized every two years and is of great importance for the economic development of the rail system and the formation of the transport policy in Europe. This year's motto was "Transport. Traffic. Talks." The questions discussed were in connection with the introduction of innovative transport concepts, the potential opportunities for new technologies and the developments in the current market situation. The Seventh International Rail Summit of the European Ministers of Transport and leaders of major European railway companies was also part of the Congress Fair. Among the main topics of the Summit were: "Comparisons between European Metropolitan Cities - the Place for the Urban Public Transport", "Mobile Europe", "Seaports as the Door to Europe" and others. During his visit, Minister Tsvetkov met with Professor Klaus Dieter Scheuerle, Germany's State Secretary on transport issues. They discussed the need of bilateral cooperation in the area of rail transport. Together with Lutz Lienenkämper, the Minister for Building and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Minister Tsvetkov discussed the perspective for a bilateral relation in the area of combined transportation and logistics.
