Minister Tsvetkov Initiates a New Electronic Service for Sofia Airport

22.01.2010
The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Aleskandar Tsvetkov initiates a new opportunity for receiving information from the Sofia Airport - the electronic service "Flight information via SMS." The service is offered to all passengers and citizens and allows them to receive up-to-date information about arrivals and departures at Sofia Airport by sending an SMS.

The SMS information system is already working. Using the single phone number 12211 for all mobile operators, one can send a short message in one of two ways:

  • With a specific flight number - departing or arriving. The message sender will receive up-to-date information about the flight status - the arrival/departure terminal and any potential delays.

  • The other opportunity is for the name of a city to be sent to/from which there are flights to/from Sofia Airport. The subscriber will receive the schedule of all the flights for the destination specified for the time period from 0.00 to 24.00 h. of the day the SMS is sent. The name of the city may be sent either in Bulgarian or in English.

If the subscriber adds the number 1 or the letter D before or after the name of the city, he/she will receive information about the departing flights only.

If the number 2 or the letter A is added - there will be information about the arriving flight from the destination specified..

The price of the service "Flight information via SMS" is 1.20 leva with DDS for sending an SMS. Receiving messages from the Airport is free.
