In the Republic of Korea Minister Tsvetkov Signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the Construction of Transport Infrastructure

Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications of the Republic of Bulgaria Alexandar Tsvetkov and the Minister of land transport and maritime affairs of the Republic of Korea, Chung Jong-Juan today signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of both countries for exchange and cooperation in the construction of transport infrastructure. This happened during the visit of Minister Tsvetkov in the town of Busan.

The purpose of this Memorandum is to promote the mutual interest through exchange of technology and experience in construction of transport infrastructure, and expand cooperation between relevant organizations for construction in both countries. It included the development of roads, railways, ports and airports. Some of the methods of carrying out the objectives of the MoU include exchange of information on construction and management of transport infrastructure, training and exchange of experts and technicians, expansion of bilateral cooperation for development and construction projects in both countries.


Ministers agreed to establish two working groups – for rail transport and for transport infrastructure, to seek opportunities for practical application of this Memorandum.

In the city of Busan the Bulgarian delegation visited the seventeenth World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems. Within the Congress Minister Alexandar Tsvetkov participated in a ministerial round table to discuss policies to ensure safe, convenient and environmentally friendly transport.

Later during the day are expected meetings of the Bulgarian delegation with the Korean-Bulgarian Business Committee for economic cooperation, with representatives of Hyundai Rotem Co., a manufacturer of high-speed trains, and a visit to one of the largest Korean companies for shipping "Hanzhin Shipping.
