The municipalities have less than a month for assignment of the top prices of the taxi services

By order of the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Aleksandar Tsvetkov, the Executive Agency “Automobile Administration” has informed all municipalities that until May, 26, 2011 the municipalities must fix the top of the prices for the taxi services, done in their territory.
On initiative of Minister Tsvetkov were done the necessary amendments in the Law on Automobile Transport. Through these amendments are initiated top prices for the taxi services and every municipality specifies the outside prices. The Law was promulgated on March, 1, 2011. Three months later these amendments should operate.
In practice, the introduction of top prices for the taxi services will protect not only the public interests of the Bulgarian citizens and of the visitors of the country but also these of the taxi drivers that are in conditions of unfair competition. It will be ensured the security of the citizens, better competitive environment in the branch as well as the delusive practices will be stopped.
Similar approach will be applied in Great Britain, Denmark, Hungary, Netherlands, Finland, Ireland, France, Czech Republic and Belgium. Fixed rates are applied in Italy, Germany and Spain. |
