The Electrified Section of the Railway Dragoman- Kalotina-West-Boundary Was Put in Operation

Sofia, December 19, 2005 The electrified section of the railway Dragoman-Kalotina-west-boundary, part of the pan European corridor 10, was put in operation on Sunday, 18 December 2005. The Prime minister of Republic of Bulgaria Sergei Stanishev and the Prime minister of Republic of Serbia Voislav Kostunica as well as the Bulgarian Minister of transport Peter Mutafchiev and the Serbian Minister of capital investments Velimir Illich attended the ceremony. Representatives of the National company “Railway infrastructure” and “BDG” LTD also took part in the happening.
This is the final stage of the site “Renovating and electrifying of railway Volujak-Dragoman-Dimitrovgrad south”.
The building of this stage began in Mai 2004. The whole length of the electrified railway section is 19330m.
