Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski opened officially today the First International Conference for Geotechnical and Tunnel Construction GEO PROJECTS 2011. The forum was organized by the Bulgarian Association for Geotechnical and Tunnel Construction (BAGTC).
"New technologies and methods in geotechnical and tunnel construction, have a major role in the development of the transport sector and make it more competitive and efficient, capable to meet the highest requirements of security, quality and reliability," said Minister Ivaylo Moskovski during the official ceremony. Geotechnical and tunnel construction will have a big role in the next programming period of the OP "Transport", because of the impending construction of one of the largest transportation projects in the country - the construction of the railway line Vidin - Sofia and the third lot of the "Struma" Motorway, and also the construction of new sections of the metro in Sofia, said Minister Ivailo Moskovski.
