Around 1800 people are without access to digital television, according to data from the mayors of villages without terrestrial TV signal. This was stated by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Danail Papazov during an interview for Darik Radio.

The minister recalled that in early October 2013, letters were sent to the mayors in 393 villages, which are not covered by terrestrial digital signal. The aim was to identify the affected people in these areas - ie, those who are not able to use paid TV services. Local authorities were asked to provide information in the shortest possible time. In the words of Danail Papazov, currently at the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications have been received 110 responses out of 393 with a total population of 21,911 residents.

Processing and data analysis will continue until the end of November. Then depending on the final number the forthcoming actions of the state will be discussed, said Minister Papazov.

Asked about the new services which "Bulgarian Posts" are planning, Minister Papazov said that the company is authorized to operate as a provider of food vouchers. This is a new market niche in order to expand the scope of business, generate new revenue potential and consolidation of resources of the company.

Over 30,000 books a year are sold in post offices as from next year the company will offer additional textbooks, notebooks and other school supplies."Bulgarian Posts" and Bulgarian sports lottery are expected to sign a contract in order to offer new attractive services, concluded Minister Papazov.
