Deputy Minister Georgi Todorov: One of our priorities is the development and modernization of transport infrastructure

One of the main priorities in the transport sector is the construction, maintenance and modernization of transport infrastructure. That said, today, Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov, during the opening of the second terminal at Bourgas Airport.

Deputy Minister Georgi Todorov said Fraport have invested 80 million lev in the design and construction of the terminal and the infrastructure at Bourgas Airport. According to him, this is the biggest investment made at Burgas Airport in the recent decades. He added that this is an excellent example of successful public-private partnership, thanks to which Burgas has a beautiful and modern airport, which will facilitate the development of tourism and economy in the region and Bulgaria

"The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications will continue to endeavor to attract private investors for the development of transportation projects of national significance" said Deputy Minister Georgi Todorov. The building of the new terminal at Burgas Airport, besides being a modern facility, which meets the highest European standards, it is also fully compliant with the requirements relating to the accession of Bulgaria to the Schengen area. The terminal covers nearly 21,000 square meters, with large areas for arriving and departing passengers. Enclosed is the most advanced line management systems for servicing passenger and baggage with full integration of the different systems and electronic measurement and control processes. 

This is the third major investment of "Fraport Twin Star Airport Management" in the past two years after the opening of the completely renovated runway and new terminal at Varna Airport. For the three facilities the company has invested nearly 200 million lev
