31.03.2014

“After 15 years of discontinuance the airline between Bulgaria and Serbia has already been renewed.” This was stated today by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Danail Papazov during the opening of the airline Belgrade - Sofia at Sofia Airport. In his words more than 30 000 people are expected to benefit from the new airline by the end of this year.

Minister Danail Papazov said that the opening of more airlines between the Balkan countries will improve the relations and will lead to greater exchange of business trips and tourists. “This is a result of our efforts which are orientated towards the constant increase in passenger flow and attracting more airlines on the Bulgarian market”, he added.

“Last year Sofia Airport serviced a record number of more than three and a half million passengers”, Minister Papazov responded to a journalist's question. He added that in the first month of this year Sofia Airport reported an increase of 6.5% of passengers served and in February the growth is 9%. “This is a good trend and I believe that the airport will keep the momentum until the end of the year”, said Minister Danail Papazov.

The airline BelgradeSofia is operated by Air Serbia aircrafts ATR 72. The flights to and from Belgrade operate every day from Terminal 2 – landing at 15:40 and the return flight to the Serbian capital is at 16:10
