Minister Nikolina Angelkova: I will not tolerate illegal actions in the transport system

22.08.2014

I will not tolerate illegal and unregulated actions on behalf of employees in the transport system, said the caretaker Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Nkolina Angelkova during today’s meetings with representatives of the sector organizations in the field of training of drivers, taxi, coach and cargo carriers, as well as representatives of the organizations of bus station owners.

Minister Angelkova called for written signals to be sent directly to her or the portfolio Deputy Minister Georgi Todorov in cases of irregularities and gaps in the work of Automobile Administration.

“I am open to dialogue with the business and I can assure you that I will not allow for destabilization of the transport system. The main objective is to speed up the processes in all fields of transport, including automobile transport”, added Minister Angelkova.

Branch organizations stated their support to Minister Angelkova and her team and claimed that despite the short terms of office of the caretaker cabinet swift and effective measures can be undertaken regarding the most pressing issues in the sector.

It emerged from the meeting that Ordinance Н-32 on the regular technical inspections of vehicles had already been signed by Minister Angelkova and sent to the Ministry of Interior for agreement. Minister Nikolina Anglekova made the commitment to hold talks so that the ordinance can enter into force by the beginning of September.

During the meeting various proposals for amendments in the legal framework, that would result in facilitating the business and address the needs of the transport services users, were discussed.
