06.10.2015

The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski met with the Executive director of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Patrick Ky, who is on a two-day visit upon the invitation of the Bulgarian side.

His visit envisages talks with the Director General of “Civil Aviation Administration” Directorate General Mincho Tsvetkov, the Director General of Bulatsa Georgi Peev, as well as representatives of the Bulgarian aviation industry.

They will discuss current issues in the field of civil aviation, and the main points to be discussed concern the new rules the Agency is drafting on the usage of drones for civil purposes and their safe integration in the air transport system. The mechanisms and criteria for the transfer of safety controlling and monitoring functions from a national civil aviation administration to another (or to EASA) in case of lack of human resources will also be discussed.

Among the topics to be discussed is the implementation of the European program for aviation safety and the new approach, which is result-oriented with impact assessment when developing standards and norms on aviation safety, as well as when conducting standardizing inspections by EASA in member states.
