Students from Pavlikeni, Kazanlak and Popitsa received awards for best essays in the MTITC contest

17.12.2015

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Mr. Valery Borissov awarded the winners in the students’ essay competition “Internet – what does it give and what does it take from me?”. The initiative is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the International Telecommunication Union and 135 years of membership of the Republic of Bulgaria in it.

The winner of the competition is Petar Yordanov, aged 16 from Pavlikeni. The appraisal committee selected two more talents, who received special prizes – Ismihan Ismailova, aged 13 from Popitza, Byala Slatina, and Ivan-David Ivanov, aged 16 from Kazanlak.

„You showed us that you clearly understand the limits between the real and the virtual world and can confidently handle all the challenges of the world we live in” said Deputy Minister Borissov during the ceremony. „When we - the organizers of this competition - were children our parents warned us to be careful when we crossed the street or not to talk to strangers. Today the same rules apply but not only outside our homes but also in the world computer network. I’m happy that the participants in our competition know very well the benefits and the dangers of this e-world and are ready to get the best of it“, added the Deputy Minister. He also reminded the rules for the safe use of the Internet.

Each participant in the competition will receive a congratulatory letter by the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications and a collector's postal-philatelic product, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of ITU.
