The Ministry of Transport Supports the Shell Initiative for Economical Driving 21.02.2006

  The Ministry of Transport supports the Shall initiative for economical driving in Bulgaria. The campaign will be carried out under the heading “I am driving economically”. On Sunday, March 18, 2006 a “Day of the Economical Driving” will take place. The event comes with the support of the agency for Energy Effectiveness and the Sofia Municipality.

An educational program specially prepared and based on 10 practical advices, which could reduce the consumption of fuel to 30%, is the accent of the campaign. By the development of the recommendations, researches of the American institute Energy and Environmental Analysis, Inc., Washington DC, have been used. Information regarding the effect from the implementation of the advices upon the consumption of fuel has been represented.

Shell and the institutions, which support the “Day for economical Driving”, are calling the Bulgarian drivers to join the initiative, as they apply the instructions for saving fuel. Everyone can express his commitment by putting on his car a band, with a text “I’m Driving Economically” on March 18, 2006. The bands will be distributed in the Shell trade centers all over the country.
