The eight session of the Bulgarian – Russian standing workgroup on transport will take place in the Russian capital city Moscow on May 11th and 12th, 2006. Chairman of the Bulgarian workgroup is the Deputy Minister of Transport Georgi PeterNeichev. Co-chairman from the Russian side is the Deputy Minister of Transport Sergey Aristov.

The Bulgarian Ministry of Transport has offered to the Russian side, the cooperation in the field of the international automobile transportation, maritime and river transport, as well the port activities, railway and air transport to be discussed during the 8th session of the standing workgroup as part of the agenda.

Es expected the negotiations for opening of both, international railway connection and ferryboat link, will be continued. The Bulgarian side will once again bring up questions in regards to the automobile transportation licenses, visa problems of the international automobile carriers, impose of administrative penalties in cases of the terms violation by transiting across the territory of the Russian Federation.

A proposal will be made to the Russian side, the discussion between the air-navigation authorities of the both sides, regarding the regulation of the charter transports to be prolonged, in order to find the most favorable solution.

Within the framework of the session a presentation of the potentiality of the Bulgarian maritime and river ports will be made.

Members of the Bulgarian delegation are representatives of the Ministry of Transport, the executive agencies “Automobile Administration”, “Port Authority”, GD “Civil Aviation Administration”, BDZ LTD, “Navigation Maritime Bulgare” LTD, and SE “Port Infrastructure”.
