Bulgaria and Rumania Will Cooperate in Building of a Functional Airspace Bloc 21.09.2006

The Minister of Transport of Republic of Bulgaria Peter Mutafchiev and the Minister of Transport, Construction and Tourism of Rumania Radu Bercany signed a common statement regarding the mutual vision for cooperation in the context of the preparation to enforce the European Union low for Common European Sky, which includes an establishment of functional airspace blocks.

This happened during the 9-th session of the Mixed Intergovernmental Bulgarian-Rumanian Commission for Commercial-Economical Cooperation, which is taking place in Bucharest.

The initiative of SE “ATC” and ROMATSA for creation of FAB- “Functional Airspace Block” is the occasion for signing the statement. It follows the operative requirements, which reflect the necessity for more integrated airspace administration, independent from the existing boarders, in accordance with the EU initiative for creation of Common European Sky.
