The Minister of Transport Peter Mutafchiev was a Patron of the international conference “Railway Forum 2006” which took place in Veliko Tarnovo on October 9-10, 2006. During the forum the Transport Minister gave a lecture to the theme “The Transport System in Bulgaria – Its Position and Role in the Balkan Region and Europe after the EU Joining”. The conference was organized by the Union of European Railway Engineer Associations (UEEIV), The Scientific-Technical Union on Transport, National Union – Society of the Railway Engineers, the Federation of the Scientific-Technical Unions in Bulgaria, with the Partnership of the Ministry of Transport, BDZ Ltd and NA “Railway Infrastructure”. Issues, connected with the passengers and freight transport in the country, the improvement of the infrastructure and the passengers comfort were discussed during the conference.
