Minister Moskovski opens high-tech lab 29.04.2015

The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and communications Ivaylo Moskovski took part in the opening of Hewlett-Packard high-tech laboratory for remote services. The latest technologies of the company are deployed in the center and the investment amounts to over 10 million levs.

The lab in the Business Park is the largest investment of the American company in Europe. It is to be used for the training and research purposes of universities.

The facility is to be used for the professional development of IT experts. Students and lecturers from the Bulgarian academic institutions will have access to the state-of-the-art resources in the laboratory. At present Hewlett-Packard has signed contracts with the Technical University in Sofia, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, New Bulgarian University and Sofia Vocational Training High School in Electronics “John Atanssov”, which will be able to develop their own applications and implement their own projects for free.

The IT center was opened by the Prime Minister Boyko Borissov who said that the country has the best place for investments in Europe. The state contributes in that respect as it maintains the lowest taxes in Europe and provides the necessary infrastructure. The US Ambassador to Sofia Marcy Reis took part in the event.
