On the first day of the first intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation between Bulgaria and Pakistan, a postal-philatelic product dedicated to the 50th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries was validated. The validation stamp was placed by Valery Borissov, Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications; Lyuben Petrov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Bulgarian party of the Bulgarian-Pakistani intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation; Mohammad Jamshaid Iftikhar Ambassador of Pakistan, Omar Hamid Khan, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Finance, Tax, Economic Affairs, Statistics and Privatization and Borislav Kostov, Director General "Bilateral Relations" at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"Like diplomacy, the universal symbol of the post card unites nations, despite the thousands of kilometers that separate them", said at the ceremony Deputy Minister Valery Borissov. In his words, the Jubilee postcard depicts the most sustainable thing for a nation – its culture. The product combines folk motives from Bulgarian and Pakistan cultural traditions, he said. The illustrated postcard is in circulation of 684 copies. The artist of the project is Borislava Karadjova.

Deputy Minister Valeri Borissov announced that the intergovernmental commission is to discuss issues of common interest such as the draft agreement on air transport, as well as exchange of experience in the field of communications and information technology. In his speech, Valery Borissov pointed out that Bulgaria and Pakistan enjoy traditionally good relations within the specialized international organizations - the International Telecommunication Union and the Universal Postal Union.
