Large size

Executive Agency "Automobile Administration" carried out yet another emergency inspection at Kalotina checkpoint yesterday. The inspections of the buses entering the country were carried out under the ordinance of the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski. The purpose of inspections is to minimize the illegal transportation of passengers and to ensure the safety of passengers.

Within four hours the inspectors of EA "Automobile Administration" checked 14 buses traveling on international routes or performing occasional passenger transportations. Eleven tickets for violations were issued amounting to nearly 20,000 lev.

Much of offenses can be defined as extremely serious, since they are related to driving and break times for drivers, which directly affect the safety of transport. Omission of statutory breaks for the drivers leads to fatigue, reducing response time and even falling asleep.

Inspectors of Executive Agency "Automobile Administration" will continue to carry out enhanced control in the areas of border crossings.
