Thirty new data registers are in the process of accession to the automatic data exchange between administrations, which is an activity under the project "Upgrading of existing and construction of new central systems of e-government with a view to improving the information and communication environment for better administrative services to citizens and businesses". The progress on the implementation of activities was presented at an informational event.

Among the new databases that will provide information in an automated way are the registers of trademarks, patents and designs to the Patent Office; registers of data administrators and those who have been denied registration by the Commission for Personal Data Protection; the register of job seekers at the Employment Agency; the register of the certificates for registration for trainings of drivers to the Executive Agency "Automobile Administration".

A mobile version of the Single portal for e-services has been deployed. The portal has a Bulgarian and an English version and provides conditions for consolidation of the web sites of central and municipal administrations.

Systems for single user authentication (information systems and civil servants), and secure mechanisms for verifying the authenticity of electronic documents have been developed under the project. The equipment to ensure the needs of e-governance has also been provided.

The model for e-payments to the budget organizations has been updated, and the single entry point for electronic payments in the state and local administrations - pay.egov.bg is under development for electronic payments of administrative services.

In his address to the participants in the event, the project manager Hristo Hristov pointed out that the different activities are related to the development and implementation of new features upgrading the main systems of e-government. He presented the results achieved to date which include e-authentication, generating and processing of business events, e-validation of electronic documents or paper copies, e-issuance, e-payment between administrations in the provision of electronic services. "By connecting the 30 central registers we are expanding the opportunities for automatic exchange of data between different administrations in order to provide a large number of complex administrative electronic services", said Hristo Hristov. In his words, this is another step towards building a "digital administration", which will reduce the cost of data exchange and facilitate the access of citizens and businesses to electronic services.

The project "Upgrading the existing and construction of new central systems of e-government with a view to improving the information and communication environment for better administrative services to citizens and business" is being implemented with the financial support of Operational Program "Administrative Capacity", co-financed by European Union through the European Social Fund. The total project cost is just over 20 million levs, and should be completed by the end of the year.
