Deputy Minister Valery Borissov: All municipalities can join the e-government cloud 15.10.2015

All municipal administrations have the opportunity to join the e-governance cloud and use 50 electronic administrative services, which have been developed for Sofia Municipality as pilot services, said Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Valery Borissov during a round table discussion on "Municipalities in the cloud of the local administration", which was held in Sofia. During the event, the activities and results of the project "Development of administrative electronic services" financed under Operational Program "Administrative Capacity" were presented.

Valery Borissov pointed out that the project is worth about 18 million levs and includes five main activities at the time of its launch:

Activity 1: Analysis, identification and registration of primary data administrators and their services in the records of EP;

Activity 2: Analysis and selection of specific services for electronic realization;

Activity 3: Implementation of priority administrative services;

Activity 4: Development of an architecture reference model for central governments and municipal administrations;

Action 5: Improvement of the portal and completing the system of e-government in connection with the administrative service;

"As a result of the competition during the tender procedures for the project we managed to incur savings. This allowed us to implement an additional activity on the development of a platform for electronic administrative services in the cloud of the local administration”, summed up the Deputy Minister. It is this activity that enables municipalities to participate in the cloud and to provide these services. "We are currently making a pilot integration of the 50 services in three municipalities – Radomir, Gabrovo and Bourgas. Choosing them we implement the system in different in sizes municipal administrations working with various case management systems", said Valery Borissov.

The Deputy Minister informed the participants that in the OP "Good governance" has pledged funding for the integration of municipalities in cloud infrastructure and urged municipalities to work actively in this direction. This will optimize processes and will facilitate citizens and businesses, as well as employees in the municipal administrations.

During the event representatives of the contractor "Sirma Solutions" JSC demonstrated the operation of the platform and its additional features. They emphasized that the purpose of the platform is to bring together all relevant information that is collected and stored, in the performance of activities of municipalities and provide it in a convenient form.

The round table was attended by representatives of more than 50 municipalities.
