Agreements for funding of one water and two railway projects under Connecting Europe Facility have been signed 05.12.2015

The European Commission signed the grant agreements for the projects approved during the first call for proposals under the Connecting Europe Facility, "Transport" sector. The approved projects are for modernization of the railway sections Sofia - Bankya and Sofia - Elin Pelin and will be implemented by the National Company "Railway Infrastructure". For the railway section Sofia - Bankya Bulgaria will receive almost 76.5 mln. Euros, which is 73% of the total value of the project. The railway line Sofia - Elin Pelin receives 58 mln. Euros - 85% of the total value of the planned activities.

In the water sector has been approved the FAIRway Danube project, which includes a pilot study for the implementation of the activities to improve the conditions for navigation along the Danube River, which includes the delivery of two vessels for measuring and marking of the waterway in the Bulgarian section of the river. This is a joint project between Bulgaria, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia and Romania  and the Bulgarian side beneficiary is Executive Agency "Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River". Our country will receive almost 6 mln. Euros for it, which is 85% of the total value of the project.
