A new trilateral meeting on connection of the optical networks of Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia was agreed in Brussels with the EU Commissioner G. Oettinger 26.05.2016

New trilateral meeting regarding the project on connection of the optical networks of Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia in the border regions will be carried out in June in the current year. It was agreed upon during the talks carried out today in Brussels between the Commissioner responsible for digital economy and digital society Günther Oettinger, Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Valery Borissov and the Minister of Information Society of Romania Marius Bostan.

The next month’s meeting on acceleration of the trilateral project will involve experts from Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Commission DG for Communications Networks, Content and Technology. At the meeting is expected to be finalized the business model of the project which to be used as a model for other initiatives within the European Union.

During today's talks Deputy Minister Valery Borissov thanked Commissioner Oettinger and his team for the official letter sent to the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski, which gives a high praise to the project.
