The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski signed the Declaration on the development of the Orient/East-Med Rail Freight Corridor. The event is part of the "TEN-T Days 2016" conference, organized by the European Commission.

Signatures on the document put the Transport Ministers of Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Greece and Germany. During the discussions Minister Moskovski said that it is necessary to be undertaken coordinated measures by all stakeholders for the effective use of the corridor. He said that the elaboration of the declaration, together with the Action Programme of key actions will lead to improved railway freight services.

During the Ministerial meeting held today in Rotterdam was a presented a Declaration on the development of rail freight corridors. "The development of international freight transport will contribute to the development and the smooth functioning of a sustainable Single European railway area", said during the forum Minister Ivaylo Moskovski. He stressed that the success of the concept of rail freight corridors depends largely on the involvement of all stakeholders and the use of market-based approach to facilitate this mode of international transport.

Minister Ivaylo Moskovski took part also in the Ministerial Meeting of the neighboring countries: TEN-T - a bridge between Europe and the rest of the world. Minister Moskovski said that the development of a common transport network in Europe and its neighboring regions is extremely challenging. "Its construction is associated with both significant financial resources and good coordination and cooperation in order to achieve and implement common standards, procedures and interoperability," said the Bulgarian Minister. In his words, the inclusion of the Western Balkans into the Regulation on TEN-T is of great significance to Bulgaria.
