Bulgarian projects are eligible to contest the International Telecommunication Union 07.09.2016

Bulgarian institutions and companies can participate in the sixth edition of the International Telecommunication Union - Awards Forum on Information Society 2017. On September 5 it was announced early submission of proposals. The competition is divided into 18 categories, including e-governance, communication infrastructure, access to knowledge and information, e-commerce and e-education.

The deadline for applications is February 15, 2017. The approved projects will be nominated during the period 16 February to 15 March 2017.  After that is coming a phase of public online voting. Winners will be announced during the ceremony WSIS Prize 2017 Forum for Information Society 2017.

Since the first edition of the competition so far, more than 200,000 organizations around the world have participated in the nominations for the awards Forum on Information Society. Among them are more than 100 Bulgarian institutions and companies. Last year project of Southwestern University in Blagoevgrad won. Bulgarian projectshas been nominated each year and they are included in editions of the Forum for Information Society as best practices.
