All sailors rescued in Black Sea operation

The rescue operation in the Black Sea was successfully completed with the rescue of the entire crew of the cargo ship EILEEN. The operation was conducted by the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center in Varna, and the quick and effective response ensured the safety of the sailors.

Following a request for assistance to the Bulgarian Navy, a helicopter was sent to the scene of the incident, and a Beaudry corvette was put on standby. In cooperation with the Turkish ship Morat Ilhan, the two lifeboats were found and localized, with the 10 Ukrainian sailors evacuated and taken on board the Turkish ship.

The on-site medical examination confirmed that there was no need for air evacuation and the sailors were transported to a Turkish port. The last person of the crew was taken aboard the Turkish auxiliary ship at 19:31.
