Minister of Transport and Communications
Georgi Peev is an expert with over 20 years of proven experience in the field of civil aviation, strategic management and international cooperation.
Since 2014, he has been the Director General of the State Enterprise Bulgarian Air Traffic Services Authority (BULATSA). Under his leadership, the enterprise has achieved high standards in the safety and efficiency of air navigation services, confirming the leading role of Bulgaria in the regional and European plan.
Peev represents our country at the highest levels of European airspace management. He is a member of the Provisional Council of the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) and of the Governing Board of the SESAR 3 JU Joint Undertaking - a key body for innovation in the Single European Sky. He is a member of the European Office of the Civil Air Navigation Service Providers Executive Committee and actively participates in the management of the Danube Functional Airspace Block (DANUBE FAB).
His professional career at BULATSA started in 2002 as an air traffic controller, moving through the positions of instructor, head of department and director of the Air Traffic Control Directorate.
Peev holds a Master of Engineering degree in "Operation of Electronic Instrumentation Aviation Equipment (Air Traffic Controller)" from the Technical University - Sofia. He specialized at the EUROCONTROL Aviation Learning Centre and at the German air navigation service provider.
He is fluent in English.
He is married with one child.
