A package of measures in support of freight and bus transport due to expensive fuels will be discussed at the MTF

A second meeting with representatives of industry organizations in freight and bus transport will be held at the Ministry of Transport and Communications tomorrow to discuss a package of support measures due to the increase in fuel prices. Representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy and Industry and the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works will also attend the meeting.

At the initiative of the Minister of Transport and Communications, Korman Ismailov, the government is expected to grant an additional subsidy for bus lines, which are currently outside the scope of support under the Road Transport Act. An increase in the funds for compensating student transport is also envisaged.

Among the proposed measures is a doubling of state aid to maintain the competitiveness of the heavy-duty sector from EUR 25 million to EUR 50 million. It is also proposed to postpone by several months the increase of the eco-component in tolls for vehicles over 3.5 tons and buses.

The introduction of guarantee mechanisms for rescheduling carriers' lease instalments is at an advanced stage of discussion, in order to alleviate short-term financial pressure and preserve the stability of companies in the sector.

The ITU is developing urgent measures to reduce the administrative burden and shorten the deadlines for the services of EA Automobile Administration, which will facilitate the work of transport companies and lead to additional savings.
