A postage stamp is a small painting that can easily cross state borders and convey our message. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadzhov said during the validation of a postage stamp commemorating 100th anniversary of the birth of Georgi Kaloyanchev. He put a stamp for the launch of the edition together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev and the representative of the Board of Directors of Bulgarian Posts EAD Stanislav Dochev.
“The edition will travel around the world to convey the message of Bulgaria as one of the active and dialogical member states of the United Nations. This is an organization that we associate with peace, the protection of human rights, good relations between nations and between countries,“ the Deputy Prime Minister added. According to him, in Bulgarian branding, topics dedicated to international organizations have had a special place since the early 1960s. Among them are editions dedicated to the Red Cross, the World Nature Fund, UNESCO and the United Nations. The first Bulgarian postage stamp dedicated to the United Nations was issued in 1961.
Grozdan Karadzhov expressed gratitude to the artist Simona Kozhuharova for the elegant and symbolic layout of the edition, which recreates precisely those values that Bulgaria has shared with the world organization for seven decades now.
