One hundred and fifty years since the issue of the Sultan's Firman for the recognition of the independent Bulgarian Church, under the name Bulgarian Exarchy, has been commemorated with the validation of a postage stamp. The seal of validation was affixed by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Andreana Atanasova and the Secretary General of the Holy Synod, Bishop Gerasim.

By working together to prepare the publication, we are contributing to the promotion of the exceptional role of the first official Bulgarian institution recognized by the Ottoman Empire. This was stated by Deputy Minister Atanasova during the ceremony. In her words, with the postal issue, we also celebrate our respect for the values ​​of Christianity.

The topic of religion has been present in Bulgarian postage stamps since the 1960s, and a stamp for the anniversary of the Bulgarian Exarchate is being printed for the second time, said Andreana Atanasova.
