Minister Ivaylo Moskovski to preside EU Transport Council session

The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Ivaylo Moskovski, will preside the Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council’s sessions on transport and telecommunication on June 7 and 8 2018 in Luxemburg.

The agenda in the Transport session discusses the issues of Mobility Package, the Regulation on safeguarding competition in air transport, the Directive on port reception facilities for ship-generated waste, and the Regulation on the rights and obligations of rail passengers. Financing of infrastructure projects in the EU and the Western Balkan region will also be discussed.

The Telecommunications session will bring up topics, such as the Progress Report on the Proposal for a Regulation on Privacy and Electronic Communications. There will be a political debate on matters, such as metadata processing, storage of data and its subsequent processing in end-use devices and rights and obligations with regard to the confidentiality of communications for the needs of law enforcement authorities. The Cybersecurity Regulation will also be noted, as well as the recast version of the Proposal for a Directive on the re-use of public sector information.
