Minister Rossen Jeliazkov: The automatic translation system helps to bring the EU closer together

It is good when there are initiatives in our common European home that help to bring about cohesion, mutual acquaintance and, at the same time, justify the resources invested. This was announced by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Rossen Jeliazkov at the opening of a national Seminar for Support of the Automatic Translation System in the EU eTranslation.

There are half a billion citizens in Europe, speaking in 24 languages, we have 3 alphabets, added the minister. He explained that the results of the project "Coordination of language resources in Europe" are already benefiting and helping to overcome the differences. In the words of Minister Rossen Jeliazkov, the modern platform for automated translation has two significant advantages, which are also its advantages compared to other existing systems for public use. eTranslation allows users to keep their personal data and has a high level of expert and professional value, he said.

The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications is the coordinator of the Transport and Telecommunications sectors of the Connecting Europe Facility, whose resource was implemented and this project, Minister Jeliazkov said. He recalled that the Ministry, along with the Institute of Bulgarian Language at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, provided a large administrative documentary resource so that the platform could learn itself. "Her artificial intellect begins, develops, will enter its maturity. Here is our call to provide resources and documents so that the platform is increasingly gaining capacity and potential to be professionally used, "the minister said.

Minister Rossen Jeliazkov stressed that eTranslation will help not only administrators but also all citizens in the Union who need to use public and public services at a very high level. "I am sure that it will overcome not only differences and linguistic barriers but will help to better understand the ways and means of functioning of the public, public institutions in the Union," added the minister.

Greetings to the participants in the seminar were given by the Deputy Minister for the Bulgarian EU Council Presidency Monika Panayotova and the Head of the Representation of the European Commission Ognian Zlatev.
