The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski has ordered the preparation of urgent measures to stop the irregularities in the practical examinations for the candidate drivers

Minister Ivaylo Moskovski has set several goals to improve the quality of the practical exams that experts will work on.

The first objective is to develop a new methodology for selecting the routes to be followed during the exam. One of the options is for each candidate to be pre-set the starting and ending points of the route as the candidate chooses which way to pass. In this way, examiners will not be able to choose easier routes for some candidates and difficult for other. The second measure is the representatives of the driving schools not to be in the examination committees.

In order to be fully guaranteed that the test cars are technically equipped so that to minimize the subjective factor and prevent manipulations, the possibility of EA "Automobile Administration" to purchase or take vehicles by operational leasing is examined. These vehicles will be equipped with modern technique that are able to recognize the movement of the vehicle as well as the behavior of the driver and the examiner. The vehicle equipment must be fixed to allow full video capture in the passenger compartment and outside the vehicle, make a permanent audio recording, report when the pedals of the vehicle are pressed by the examiner and any other effect on the controls. This measure will lead to tighten the control and clear identification of the persons responsible.

On the occasion of the violations found related to the examinations of the candidate drivers, Minister Ivaylo Moskovski ordered the dismissal of the head of the Regional Department “Automobile Administration” – Sofia, Kancho Dimitrov, as well as of all the employees, who are reported to have committed unlawful actions.
