MTC and the road transport branch start firm actions to solve all problematic issues in the sector

The Ministry of Transport and Communications and the representatives of the road transport branch will work actively and in partnership, in search of solutions to all problematic issues for the sector. This was agreed during a meeting today between Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Stoyan Novakov and representatives of the Union of International Road Hauliers, the European Transport Cluster, the National Association of Road Hauliers, AEBTRI and others.

In the framework of the meeting, the branch presented its position on a number of key topics for the sector, with the greatest attention being paid to the issue of the throughput mode of Bulgarian heavy vehicles at Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint. Deputy Minister Novakov informed that next week MTC will organize a meeting between all institutions related to the topic, to which the representatives of the branch are invited. "The Bulgarian side is in the process of negotiating a meeting between the Bulgarian and Turkish Transport Ministers, where all important topics will be discussed at the highest level", Novakov explained.

Regarding the Mobility Package, Deputy Minister Novakov said that the Bulgarian side has already filed three complaints with the Court of Justice of the European Union for filing lawsuits under each of the legislative acts of the Package.

In the framework of the meeting, the representatives of the road transport branch insisted on the remaining of transport hospitals in the system of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Deputy Minister Novakov said that the same position was expressed by Trade Unions and this issue was to be analyzed in detail.
