A postage stamp marked the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and China. The seal was set today by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Dimitar Nedyalkov, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Bulgaria H.E. Dai Qingli, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nevyana Miteva, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bulgarian Post Emilia Facheva, Chairman of the Union of Bulgarian Philatelists Spas Panchev and artist Todor Angeliev. The ceremony was attended by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria (1997 - 2002) Petar Stoyanov, members of parliament, philatelists and others.
"Philately is often regarded as an art library, where the history of countries, nations, and I would add friendships are arranged," Deputy Minister Nedyalkov said. In his words, today's stamp is the fourth issue in the new Bulgarian philatelic history, which is related to the relations between Bulgaria and China. Dimitar Nedyalkov stressed that almost every year stamps are issued in a block with a limited edition, dedicated to the Chinese New Year and the various signs of the fauna that symbolize it. "The artist of today's edition, Todor Angeliev, has used one of the most recognizable and beloved symbols of China's rich nature - the giant panda," Deputy Minister Nedyalkov explained.
H.E. Dai Qingli thanked the representatives of the Bulgarian institutions for their support in issuing the commemorative stamp.
"75 Years of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the People's Republic of China" is a postage stamp in a block and a special postmark. The circulation is 6000 copies, face value BGN 3.60 and author Todor Angeliev.
