Rossen Jeliazkov urged Bulgarian MEPs to joint actions under the Mobility Package I

The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov sent a letter to the Bulgarian representatives in the European Parliament calling for joint action with all Member States of the Mobility Package I. In the letter, Rossen Jeliazkov stressed that the protection of the Bulgarian transport sector is a national cause and it is necessary to mobilize all the resources to defend the national interest before the plenary session of the European Parliament, to be held on 25-28 March.

Minister Jeliazkov sets the inclusion of the Mobility Package I on the provisional agenda for the upcoming meeting as unprecedented pressure to impose discriminatory rules for Bulgarian carriers. "I would like to emphasize that I take into account the importance of the actions taken by you, and again we have to show that the protection of the Bulgarian transport sector is a national cause," he said in the letter. As a message to Bulgaria's European partners and chairmen of the political groups in the European Parliament, Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov notes that the actions that are aimed at bankruptcy of a whole branch not only in the Bulgarian economy but also in the other peripheral Member States are by no means among the main European values.

"Let us prove that our voice has its weight and we continue working together to preserve the competitiveness of the Bulgarian transport sector," Rossen Jeliazkov said. He points out that he will also inform his colleagues from Poland, Hungary, Lithuania and Latvia about this letter.
