The specialized inspections for illegal transportation of passengers in the areas of the airports and border checkpoints, ordered by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov, have started.
Employees of the Road Transport Administration Executive Agency and the Border Police Directorate General conducted joint inspections for unregulated passenger transport at Kalotina border checkpoint. A total of 4 vans carrying passengers were checked. At the inspection of one of the minibuses 8 + 1 seats it was found that there was an unregulated transportation of 8 passengers to a Western Europe country. Before Border Police officers, the passengers confirmed that they had paid for the trip. The vehicle was stopped, the license plates were removed and the driver's license was revoked. The relevant prosecutor's office is to be notified, as there is evidence of a crime under Art. 234 of the Penal Code.
