From 10.00 on 14 April 2022, air carriers with an operating license of a carrier in the EU with a passenger authorization issued by the Director-General of the Civil Aviation Administration Directorate-General will have the opportunity to apply for government grants. The deadline for submitting applications is 4.30 p.m. on April 26, 2022. Applications are to be submitted to the Registry Office of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

The provision of financial support to air carriers is under the procedure of A Grant Scheme For Air Carriers with an operating license of a carrier in the EU authorized to carry passengers, issued by the Director-General of the Civil Aviation Administration Directorate-General.
The total amount of financial assistance under the Scheme is up to BGN 60 million national funding from the State Budget of the Republic of Bulgaria.
