All Data on the Country's Digital and Transport Networks Will Be Accessible Through a Single Portal

Within 14 months, all data on digital and transport infrastructure will be integrated into a single platform. It will be developed by upgrading the existing Single Information Point.

"With the creation of a National Access Point for information services for multimodal travel, we are fulfilling a requirement of European legislation," said Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications, Dimitar Nedyalkov, during the project presentation. He stressed that the data from this portal will serve as a foundation for the upcoming development of the National Transport Scheme.

Currently, the Single Information Point includes telecoms, electricity, water and sewerage, gas, rail, road and street networks. It contains information on 31,000 km of electronic communication networks and 179,000 infrastructure sites. More than 1,390 operators use its services daily. According to Dimitar Nedyalkov, new functionalities will soon be added to make it more useful for citizens in their everyday lives.

The Deputy Minister explained that the National Access Point for information services for multimodal travel will act as a portal for travel options. In addition to transport modes such as buses, trains, scooters, and rental cars, it will also provide real-time information on parking availability and traffic conditions. The platform will differ from existing internet applications, as transport operators will be required to continuously update schedule changes.
