Bulgaria signed a Memorandum on the reduction of roaming prices with Serbia too

The Bulgarian Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski and the Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić signed a Memorandum on the reduction of international roaming tariffs between the two countries. The document was endorsed in the presence of Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and Romanian Prime Minister Mihai Tudose, within the framework of the four-state co-operation council held today in Belgrade.

The agreement provides for the parties to encourage mobile operators to reach specific arrangements among themselves to bring about a steady reduction of international tariffs for roaming services.

More than 14 million nationals of both countries will benefit from the cost of roaming calls. Serbia is the second country in the Western Balkans to sign such a memorandum. This is another step aimed at the fulfillment of one of the main priorities set by our country within the framework of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union - communication connectiviy between the Western Balkans and the member states.

Prices for roaming services between Bulgaria and Serbia range from BGN 2.99 to BGN 6.99 per minute and about BGN 25 per megabyte and are among the highest in Europe.
