The preparation of "Bulgarian Posts" employees for their social role in the exchange of levs into euros, as well as the possibilities for digital training of the staff at the state-owned company, were discussed today during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications, Grozdan Karadjov, and the President of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB), Plamen Dimitrov. Plans for the future logistics are already being coordinated with the Bulgarian National Bank. Public procurement procedures for equipment have been announced, and contracts are due to be signed.
During the meeting, priorities in communications, water, air and road transport were also discussed. Representatives from sectoral organisations and enterprises participated in the discussions. "Only through dialogue can we move forward," were the words of the Deputy Prime Minister at the beginning of the meeting.
To improve digital skills, the CITUB President pointed out that employees can be trained under a project financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan, of which only one fifth of the funds have been utilised so far.
The government's plans for the concession of port terminals and other infrastructure facilities were also a topic of the conversation. "Bulgaria ranks last in the European Union in terms of this type of public-private partnership. The future of Bulgaria over the next 10 years will be determined by this matter," Deputy Prime Minister Grozdan Karadjov stated emphatically. He assured that the plan for the sites being prepared for concession would be discussed with the trade unions.
The development of Burgas Airport, as well as the need to appoint more inspectors to the "Road Administration", were also among the issues raised by CITUB representatives.
