The Bulgarian-Russian Working Group on IT discussed the opportunities of admission of Bulgarian scholars into the Russian "silicon valley"

Under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Valery Borissov and Deputy Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation Rashid Ismailov in Sofia was held the Eighth Meeting of the Standing Bulgarian-Russian Working Group "Information Society and ICT".

During the meeting both sides agreed to consider the admission of Bulgarian scholars into the Innopolis University - the biggest technology park in Russia. It has been raised the issue of cooperation in educational, scientific and technical activities with Bulgarian universities and ICT companies, including the implementation of joint educational programs and projects, exchange of professors and specialists. The delegations noted the significance of the establishment and development of contacts between Bulgarian and Russian educational institutions.

Both sides reviewed the idea to enable mobile and postal operators to develop services for online remittances through bank cards and through mobile services accounts.

Other topics that were discussed were the tariff policy in the field of communications in Bulgaria and Russia, Internet governance, joint initiatives to ensure cross-border information security.
