Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadjov is convening an emergency meeting in response to operational disruptions at Vasil Levski Airport – Sofia, and a serious incident that occurred yesterday, in which nearly 300 passengers arriving on a flight from London were stranded for almost an hour in the airbridge connecting the aircraft to the terminal.
The meeting will be held tomorrow, Sunday, at 10.00 a.m. at Terminal 2. Participants will include the leadership of the Directorate General “Civil Aviation Administration” (DG CAA); the CEO of SOF Connect and his team; representatives from the Customs Agency, Border Police; and all ground handling operators responsible for servicing arriving flights from third countries.
Each participating body is expected to present to Minister Karadjov a proposed plan for improving the organization of entry procedures into Bulgaria for passengers arriving from non-EU countries.
