An employee of the Regional Department "Automobile Administration" – Plovdiv caused a road incident with an official vehicle yesterday (Friday) upon arrival at a training center to conduct a practical exam. While reversing, the employee struck one of two pedestrians who were walking together.
A team from the "Traffic Police" sector – Plovdiv arrived at the scene of the incident. The driver's alcohol test was negative. The field test for narcotic substances returned a positive result, and a blood sample was taken for laboratory analysis.
By order of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadzhov, the inspector was temporarily suspended from work yesterday pending the results of the blood tests and clarification of the case. "On behalf of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, I offer my sincere apologies to those affected," said Deputy Prime Minister Karadzhov regarding the incident.
The two individuals affected by the incident were immediately taken to a medical facility for examination and were later released in good health. Only a minor abrasion on the finger of the hurt individual was noted.
Today, the employee of the Regional Department "Automobile Administration" – Plovdiv visited them at their home to inquire about their condition and to offer his personal apologies.
